Coincidenta...Hi Mavshi, a very good article indeed. Coincidentally, I have been thinking about the same subject because of a book I am reading currently: "Being Mortal" by Dr. Atul Gawande. The author is a very renowned surgeon in the USA; with ancestors from India. Lauding the older Indian way of 'death at home, surrounded by kith and kin; instead of on a hospital bed' - he stresses that autonomy during terminal years is even more important than the artificial safety of a jail-like hospital.
